About Sharon

Sharon Noles, Sharon Noles, RN, BSN, RRT, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist

My story about massage begins at the age of ten. My mother had scoliosis, chronic head aches, back aches, and neck pain and for some reason she chose me to massage her back and neck while she laid on the dining room floor. A few years later I was part of a professional dance company, again and nominated as massage therapist to my fellow dancers.

After several years of professional dancing and injuries I married and had three children. My oldest was six when the twins arrived. It’s hard for me to tell the rest of the story because it’s embarrasing. But it is an important story to tell because many women need encouragement and hope.

Here’s the ugly truth: My husband, at that time, became abusive after we married. The abuse got worse each year and particularly after the twins. I contributed it to stress and that it ‘would get better’. Not so. What needed to be done was clear to me. But I still did not have a formal education and a means to support myself and my three children. But I did have a 200% conviction that I would do what ever it took to provide for the children and myself. And I got out.

Nursing was my original interest but there was a year and a half long waiting list to get into the local nursing program. Too long for me to wait. I asked the college “what else do you have?”. They answered, “Respiratory Therapy. There aren’t enough Respiratory Therapist right now and we need to saturate the field”. The college opened the Respiratory Therapy Program to anyone interested without going through all the necessary preliminaries. Four years later I graduated with my degree in Respiratory Therapy.

After graduation I occasionally contemplated on Massage Therapy school but the cost was enormous and I needed to work. So I waited. And waited.

In 2002 I decided to pursue my associate degree in Nursing (RN) while still working as a Respiratory Therapist (RT). In 2005 I learned about Craniosacral Therapy (CST) from an Occupational Therapist who I took one of my sons to for Occupational Therapy for Sensory Integration. Since 2005 I have practice CST and witnessed successful outcomes for people who lacked hope after exhausting all other avenues for help.

I plugged away at nursing school and graduated in 2006. For several years I worked as an RT and an RN. Finally, during the last year I was in nursing school a Massage Therapy program opened up at the local tech school. In 2007 I enrolled in the Massage Therapy program and worked as an RN in the evenings and as an RT on the weekends.

After graduating from Massage Therapy school in 2008 my Massage Therapy business slowly grew. I began receiving clients with medical conditions, including cancer, that other therapist were uncomfortable with and turned away. In 2010 I started my Oncology Massage educational journey.

In 2013 I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).
